Hiring Managers- Don’t Compare Candidates

One of the best ways to lower your hiring bar or accidentally introduce bias is to compare candidates to one another, rather than comparing them to the job requirements for the role they're applying for. This one is tough if you're doing a lot of hiring and talking to several candidates at once. Most companies do require a minimum number of candidates interviewed- the key is determining which candidate best fits the needs of the role across the board. Tools like rubrics and training sessions to make sure your team of interviewers is on the same page about requirements can be helpful for this.
